Responsibilities
Driving our digital transformation and collaborating with a variety of like-minded colleagues from within a DevOps culture.
Working alongside a Delivery Manager to deliver using agile techniques.
Coaching others in technology approaches and career development.
Running a live system, ensuring the operational aspects of logging, monitoring and alerting are built into the solution.
Pioneering new methods and forming standards and policies.
Implementing a wide range of tools, techniques and approaches for test automation.
Ensuring functionality, accessibility, performance and security is a priority to development and
throughout the software lifecycle.
Ensuring a quality software product is delivered and maintained.
Supporting an environment where continuous or "on demand" delivery can be enabled if needed by the business, using effective delivery and deployment techniques.
Maintaining and supporting services, identifying, locating and competently fixing faults, and taking proactive actions to avoid service disruption.
Sharing knowledge of tools and techniques; identifying and sharing good practices and collaborating to improve the capability of the team.
TYPICAL ROLE RESPONSIBILITIES
Experienced in designing and developing secure solutions, taking into consideration threats and attack vectors.
Working collaboratively across organisational boundaries with the end user at the heart of everything you do.
Having worked in a range of different technical areas, you'll have broad expertise, for example, software design and development, test, technical architecture and infrastructure.
Expertise in multiple programming languages and technologies will be reflected in your experience of identifying and selecting the right tools and approaches for the job.
Expertise to shape the technical landscape in which you will work; taking the wider implications of our technical strategies into account.
Expert in understanding the advantages and risks of agile working.
Experience managing technical debt.
Ability to confidently steer, coach and mentor others.
Participating in the technical community to refine and develop the technology strategy
through technical leadership, coaching and mentoring, promoting knowledge sharing and adoption of
good practice.
Promoting a culture of assurance as you go and actively contributing to the evolution of technology standard and policies.
You will have experience in some of the following technologies;
Technologies, including Java, Python, R, SAS, Node, Go, Ruby and Scala, ReactJS, Nodejs, Spring Boot, Java Script.
Different testing frameworks and BDD and TDD, using Cucumber, Selenium and Pytest.
Databases, such as Oracle, NoSQL (for example, Mongo and Cassandra) and MS SQL.
Data tools, such as Talend, Sqoop, HDFS, Elastic Search, Spark and Kibana.
Jenkins and Cloud infrastructure, such as AWS.
