- The Client:
A government department client is looking for an Environmental Assessment Manager to join them on a 3 month contract. This position will be remote.
Job Summary:
Providing comprehensive, evidence based environmental advice on decisions for nationally significant infrastructure projects, which are subject to tight statutory deadlines. We anticipate that the post holder will work on offshore wind applications expected by the department this year.
Activities will be subject to agreement with the reporting manager and are likely to include:
- Writing Habitat Regulations Assessments for nationally significant energy infrastructure projects.
- Providing advice to tight statutory timescales on the environmental impacts of all types of nationally significant energy infrastructure projects and fulfilling statutory obligations under the Habitats Regulations and EIA regulations.
Essential:
- A relevant environmental sciences undergraduate degree.
- Relevant experience of writing, reviewing or responding to Habitats Regulations Assessments and a proven ability to interpret complex environmental information.
Desirable:
- Relevant experience of Environmental Impact Assessment regulations.
- A background or interest in a technical environmental specialism such as landscape & visual assessment, land quality, water, noise, air quality, human health etc.
