- Description
- The Client:
A government department client is looking for a Senior Fullstack Developer to join them on a 6 month contract. This position will be based UK wide/ Hybrid.
Job Summary:
The Full-Stack Developer will be joining the Justice Redact team – comprising Data Scientists, a DevOps Engineer, a User Researcher, a Product Lead, a Delivery Manager, Subject Matter Experts and a Senior Interaction Designer – to design and build both the backend and frontend of an AI-powered Personally Identifiable Information (PII) redaction Minimum Viable Product (MVP). The team’s internal Data Scientists have already developed an early prototype, and the Developer will work closely with them to transform this into a secure, scalable redaction service suitable for operational use.
The project addresses a significant challenge within the client: a rapidly increasing demand for data through Subject Access Requests (SARs) and Freedom of Information (FOI) requests. Current workflows rely heavily on manual, fragmented processes, making it difficult to meet strict legal deadlines and driving up costs through external suppliers or additional staffing. The Developer will play a pivotal role in modernising this process, improving efficiency, and reducing operational risk across the department.
Skills & Experience:
- Expert knowledge of Python, including front-end technologies such as CSS/HTML and frameworks such as react and angular.
- Expert knowledge of the relational model and database applications.
- Collaboration with internal teams to design, create and maintain software.
- Experienced in working with Agile methodologies, managing tasks and delivering the core functionality of an MVP in fortnightly sprints to validate product concepts.
- Experience of containerisation.
- Creating documentation throughout the software. development life cycle (SDLC).
- Working on pre-existing codebases.
- Improving the resilience and stability of software.
- Applying practices to enable continuous delivery.
- Desirable - experience of designing software that allows users to view and interact with documents (PDF, Word) or images.
- Desirable - experience of working with cloud-based platforms such as AWS.
