The Client:

 

A government department client is looking for a Payroll Analyst to join them on a 12 month contract. This position will be based in  Reading/ Hybrid.



Job Summary:

 

Minimum Requirement:



  • Ensure accuracy of payments to employees/pensioners.

  • Liaison with employees, pensioners, external bodies, and internal departments.

  • Act as Information Management point of contact, providing support and guidance to the Payroll Team.

  • Accountable for collating, developing, and issuing reports and presentation materials in accordance with company standards as and when required against key deliverables.

  • Accountable for developing and maintaining working relationships with, and awareness of, key internal and external stakeholders.

  • Accountable for appropriate management of sensitive or classified material.



Key Responsibilities:



  • Manage weekly/monthly payroll data in the Business System in accordance with statutory and contractual obligations and to pre-defined timescales.

  • Process and monitor all staffing changes including starters, secondments, transfers, leavers and other amendments to salaries and employee data in a compliance with policy and payroll requirements.

  • Manage input, calculation and recording of sickness payment both statutory and occupational.

  • Manage input, calculation and recording of maternity, paternity, SHPL and adoption payments both statutory and occupational.

  • Manage input, calculation and recording of Fixed and Casual allowances payments and adjustments.

  • Manage balance adjustments and prepare PLO11.

  • Settlement agreements, Pension amendments on notional pay for SMP and SPL.

  • Overtime payments and adjustments, Cyclamen reporting of OSR and over payment adjustments.

  • The checking and processing of travel and expense claims in accordance with policy.

  • The processing of relevant HMRC forms including P45, P60 and manage adjustments and Tax code updates.

  • Manage all Coulport imputing and adjustments.

  • Checking and entering all temp data including HHA amendments.



Essential:



  • Candidate needs to be well-rounded in Payroll, processing pay/reward.

  • Data entry experience.

  • Knowledge of SharePoint, MS Excel and Workday.



An active SC clearance is required for this role. At a minimum, candidates must be eligible and willing to undergo security clearance. Due to the short-term nature of the contract and the urgency of the requirement, the client may prioritise applicants who already hold active SC learance and meet all essential criteria.
