- The Client:
A government client is looking for an Interaction Designer to join them on a 6 month contract. The role offers hybrid working and can be based anywhere within the UK.
Job Summary:
Minimum Requirement
- Strong web design experience, including designing public-facing websites, content-heavy websites or campaign/recruitment-style sites.
- Experience designing for content management systems such as WordPress, or working with editors who create and maintain website content.
- Experience designing accessible, responsive and usable websites that work across different devices and user needs.
- Ability to design clear, usable journeys, page structures, navigation and task flows
- Ability to balance visual design, usability and accessibility, particularly where websites need to feel distinct from GOV.UK.
- Confidence working with multidisciplinary teams, including product managers, delivery managers, user researchers, content designers, developers and accessibility specialists.
- Strong Figma skills, including maintaining design files, documenting design decisions and creating reusable design assets.
- Ability to translate user research and content needs into practical design improvements for both website editors and end users.
- Experience designing prototypes and working with teams to test, iterate and refine designs.
- Comfortable working across live service improvements, future-facing platform development and design debt.
