- The Client:
Our government department client is looking for a HR Business Partner to join them on a 9 month contract. This position will be hybrid, Peterborough.
Job Summary:
- Provide high quality and professional specialist advice and guidance to line managers which is solution focused, on all people aspects including council policies and procedures, a range of terms and conditions and pensions processes to ensure that HR matters are managed in a fair and consistent manner with an emphasis on managers taking responsibility and ownership for decision-making involving people issues.
- In conjunction with the Policy, Reward & Compliance team provide high quality and professional advice and guidance on immigration rules and the sponsoring of migrants to the organisation including interpretation of the legislation and dealing with applications.
- In conjunction with line managers, oversee HR cases from end to end to achieve effective outcomes for individuals and the organisation, including grievance, disciplinary, capability and absence management. Ensure that accurate and up to date case management records are maintained.
- Develop a dialogue with line managers to identify people issues that are obstacles to achieving departmental and service objectives. Gain support to address issues and agree priorities and action plans.
- Coach line managers to fulfil their people management responsibilities within both formal and informal processes and provide guidance with regards to line management roles and responsibilities.
- In conjunction with Line Managers, oversee change management programmes including service reorganisations and TUPE transfers seeking support from the HR Manager as required. Ensure effective consultation documents are in place and attend consultation meetings with staff and trade unions ensuring appropriate record keeping and collation of necessary data.
- Develop and deliver line manager HR best practice training to ensure processes are embedded effectively across the management population.
- Produce accurate and regular reporting on HR activities to enable effective monitoring of HR performance as well as completing Freedom of Information requests.
- Undertake HR projects as and when required to support the organisation in delivering its agenda.
- Seek to identify ways of improving the quality and value of the HR service delivered to the organisation.
