Manipulation and interpretation of the data to form a costing baseline and then performing analysis on the cost base for a variety of changing parameters/requirements.
Key tasks and deliverables
Main Duties and Responsibilities: Lead cost estimating, modelling, analysis and Project Control activities. Responsible for the preparation and presentation of estimates or models. Provide general routine cost estimating guidance to projects. Prepare estimates for agreed packages of work, including instances where a potential change is being considered. Analysis of data from sources across DE&S, international partners and its defence suppliers. Maintain the Basis of Estimate. Ensure work is completed as scheduled and to the required procedure. Identify cost trends and compile management information. Lead the Scoping, Design and Creation of simple models. Assist in Evaluating Cost Risks, Opportunities and Uncertainties.
Experience & Skills: Sufficiently knowledgeable to be able to represent Team at internal meetings or workshops. Demonstrable skill in identifying, analysing, and providing innovative solutions to cost estimating or modelling problems. Ability to utilise JAMES Cat C&D Cost Model. Ability to brief line management on the results of project control analysis and the ability to present evidence for decisions to be made upon.
