- The Client:
A government department client is looking for a Data Migration Specialist to join them on a 3 month contract. This position will be remote.
Job Summary:
Surrey County Council implemented Unit 4 as it’s ERP in 2023, and a significant programme of work is underway to develop and realise the full implementation. The Local Government landscape is ever changing, and we are looking to separate a key component into a new, customised, separate client. We require an experienced Data Migration Consultant to ensure the end-to-end migration process is executed carefully and efficiently. The Data Migration Consultant will be responsible for planning, executing, and validating the migration of data across ERP environments. The responsibilities will include:
- Preparing and completing the end-to-end data migration process management between old and new clients.
- Providing or creating templates, utilising validation tools, performing validation exercises and loading new data, all using Unit 4 import/export tools, to ensure accuracy and completeness.
- Provide support during testing.
- Develop and execute data migration plans during build-testing, UAT and Go-Live.
- Ensuring quality assurance and audit traceability throughout the project lifecycle.
- Create detailed build documentation and participate in knowledge transfer sessions with internal IT support team.
- Ensure all documentation is provide and saved to the correct project area for future reference.
Essential Skills & Experience:
- Proven experience managing end-to-end data migration processes within Unit4 ERP.
- Strong understanding of Unit4 data structures and interdependencies.
- Experience with Unit4 import/export tools and data validation techniques.
- Ability to perform data mapping, cleansing, and transformation.
- Experience supporting testing phases and resolving data-related issues.
- Highly organised with excellent attention to detail and documentation skills.
Desirable Skills and Experience:
- Proficiency in SQL and data migration tools.
- Experience integrating data from multiple systems or environments.
- Familiarity with public sector data governance and compliance standards.
