- The Client:
A government department client is looking for an Executive Assistant to join them on a 6 month contract. This position will be based in York (5 days per week in the office).
Job Summary:
Support the Managing Director in the delivery of an efficient, high performing, and professional region. To coordinate and align activities across the region.
- Manage and co-ordinate the development of regional and external stakeholder documents to time and agreed levels of quality. Prepare briefing material for the Managing Director, Region and produce presentations and papers suitable for submission to ExCom and Board.
- Identify, champion and sponsor the development and delivery of specific projects and manage the implementation of these projects amongst the senior management team.
- Coordinate planning against milestones, budget spend and resource requirements for Managing Director, Region’s office.
- Lead cross-functional teams to identify and share best practice and improve customer service across all functions.
- Act as the initial point of contact within the region for business and change management issues and communications.
- Lead the development of the region business planning to support the periodic review process, significant Board level topics and achieve business and corporate objectives.
- Lead and manage arrangements for functions, conferences, visits and meetings for both internal and external stakeholders.
- Plan, deliver and review national presentations and briefings for all region employees, including group-wide business briefings and team building events.
Essential:
- Self starter and highly motivated with excellent organisation skills.
- Excellent written / oral communications and presentation skills.
- Ability to influence and negotiate at all levels.
- Ability to develop a good network of contacts internally and externally.
- Experience of working with senior management.
Desirable:
- Educated to degree level (or equivalent).
- Sound railway background and knowledge of railway geography.
