- The Client:
A government department client is looking for a Supply Planner to join them on a 6 month contract. This position will be based in Stafford - full time on site.
Job Summary:
As a Supply Planner based in our Stafford site, you will plan and deliver achievable production plans to enable the business to deliver customer requirements in accordance with contractual obligations.
Responsibilities:
- Attend Master Production Schedule meetings to formulate an achievable production plan, which meet the customers’ needs and consider resource and technical limitations.
- Working with the production Team Leader, revise production plans to meet the needs of the customer.
- Continually review production plans to ensure the work is progressing as planned.
- Report to the Sales & Operational Planning Manager when the plan cannot be met, where the service to the customer may be impacted and therefore put at risk with in the MPS weekly Meeting.
- Liaise with commercial areas and communicate with them regarding any issues affecting delivery to the customer.
- Using the Enterprise Resource Planning (ERP) system, make Availability to Promise (ATP) to allow sales orders to be raised, generate production orders, re-plan them if required and deliver or cancel them in compliance with client procedures and within agreed timescales.
- Using ERP to carry out planning part of the item creation process by creating new task routings, forecasting, re-planning or removing surplus orders, ensure no orders are in the past, maintain the link between forecast and actual orders by following the relevant processes.
- Contribute towards improving standards within the team, considering best practice and efficiency.
- Provide ad hoc support and assistance to the line manager as and when it is required.
- Adhere to Health and Safety legislation through safe working and Risk Assessments.
- Adhere to all relevant Business processes.
Essential:
- Planning within an Industrial/manufacturing background.
- Understanding of Enterprise Resource Planning (ERP) / MRP software systems.
- Proficient in Microsoft Office - knowledge and understanding of Excel for reporting purposes.
- Understanding of technical, equipment and spares issues associated with production problems.
- Understanding of BOMs and Routing with a planning system.
