- The Client:
A government department client is looking for a Finance Business Partner Manager to join them on a 12 month contract. This position will be based in Aldermaston/ Hybrid - 4 days a week (2 on site).
Job Summary:
Direction of financial activities of a CFO Finance functional team: Financial Accounting, Financial Planning & Analysis, Financial Compliance and Finance Systems.
Leadership and line management of a functional team.
Key Accountabilities:
- Manage and deliver all financial activities as assigned to time, cost and quality.
- Develop and deliver functional strategy and drive delivery of objectives.
- Line managing and task managing as appropriate in accordance with company policies, processes and guidelines.
- Provide guidance to and drive performance of team.
- Ensure a rigorous internal finance control and governance framework is in place and is complied with for relevant functional activities.
- Drive and enable identification and implementation of process improvement activities and other innovation activities.
- Supporting and/or developing CFO policy and procedures as required.
- Maintain and promote high personal standards in environment, safety, health, security and quality and be a great team player.
- Leadership accountabilities – Mid Level leader level.

Key Responsibilities:
- Manage provision of financial information on a timely basis.
- Ensure analysis and interpretation of financial information is provided by team as required.
- Establishing, monitoring and reporting of compliance with financial processes.
- Ensuring integrity of financial information provided by team.
- Develop and maintain effective senior stakeholder relationships.
- Training and development of Finance Manager and Finance Analysts.
- Coordination and planning of team deliverables.
- Leading by example to create a high performing team.
Ideally someone qualified by experience.
They have restructured the department, including finance creating a need for a FBP manager to bring the best out of team in financial space.
Lead and support a part of the business and into producing insights. Collaborating with business. Someone who can get into the detail quickly but need someone who can bring along the team managing and making sure it’s a good unit.
Team is a mix of long standing people who are used to working in a particular way, but need the guidance and development to work in the direction the client is heading.
Notes:
Strong leadership of business partner.
Teams will be doing forecasting and forward planning.
Manager will check that work is of a high quality managing 3 people.
Escalating to Project Manager, and Programme Managers.
An active DV clearance is required for this role. At a minimum, candidates must be eligible and willing to undergo security clearance. Due to the short-term nature of the contract and the urgency of the requirement, the client may prioritise applicants who already hold active DV clearance and meet all essential criteria.
