- The Client:
A government department client is looking for a Software Developer to join them on a 6 month contract. This position will be based in Exeter/ Hybrid.
Job Summary:
Top essential evaluation criteria:
- Able to demonstrate can design, code, test, and document programs or scripts of medium-to-high complexity.
- Languages: using modern standards and technologies including Python and/or Java.
- AWS and Cloud technologies. Can create a dashboard, pulling in from the legacy system to cloud.
Essential:
- JavaScript and Python.
- Can design, code, test, and document programs or scripts of medium-to-high complexity, using modern standards and technologies including Python and/or Java.
- Systems Design, Integration and Service Support.
- Can identify and articulate risks and their potential, impacts.
- Can apply efficient use of resources and integration of multiple systems and technology.
- Can define the integration build and co-ordinate build activities across systems to undertake and support integration testing activities.
- Can identify, locate, and fix faults and design support processes for others to follow to keep services operational.
- Understand information security and can design solutions and services with security controls embedded, specifically engineered with mitigation of security threats as a core feature.
- Has demonstrable experience. Has done, not just heard of.
- Can share best practises taken from experience/knowledge.
- Experience using SharePoint/Confluence.
- Competence in Jira/Azure.
- Stakeholder management, internal and external stakeholders.
- Can communicate with tech stakeholders as well as non-tech.
- Agile/Kanban/Scrum.
Desirable:
- Security by Design.
- Full stack good but the essentials are JavaScript and Python.
- Public sector experience.
- Qualifications useful to back up experience.
An active SC clearance is required for this role. At a minimum, candidates must be eligible and willing to undergo security clearance. Due to the short-term nature of the contract and the urgency of the requirement, the client may prioritise applicants who already hold active SC clearance and meet all essential criteria.
