- The Client:
A government department client is looking for a Workspace Administrator and Remediation to join them on a 12 month contract. This position will be based in London or Bristol or Manchester/ Hybrid.
Job Summary:
The Client is undergoing a significant Digital Transformation. Over the next three years they aspire to make UK Government digital services the best in the world, meeting or exceeding the benchmark set globally by the best public or private sector standards. For them to meet this ambition they are aiming to further improve the conditions, processes and expertise they have in place to be set up for success. This means they need to go much further and faster and strengthen the delivery of ‘Digital Data and Technology’ in government. To support these ambitions they have established a new Chief Digital Information Office (CDIO) directorate to build on existing strengths. This directorate is based on six principles, to:

- Be the gateway for all non-GDS digital, data and technology services delivered by the client.

- Drive digital, data and technology thought leadership.

- Build sustainable capabilities.
The role is part of the Digital Enterprise Services team which provides, maintains and supports the infrastructure, telephony, network, WiFi, end-user devices, cloud capability and software across the entire client estate. Their user base includes the client, Crown Commercial Services, Estates, and Government Property Agency.
Reporting into the Cloud Operations Manager you will be a Migration Remediation Resource in the Google Administration team that manages the Google Workspace range of applications totalling 13,000 accounts.
What you'll do:
- You will act as the point of contact for any data remediation required as part of our move into M365 from Google Workspace.
- You will be troubleshooting migration issues and modifying data in Google Workspace and AODocs, either via the user UI, the admin consoles, or via API tools such as GAM.
Main Responsibilities:
- Maintain regular contact with users to understand their needs and challenges.
- Maintain and build the relationship with the Microsoft migration team.
- Manage and triage incoming migration issues.
- Work with the Digital Records Management team in managing the AODocs document library.
- Work with the Project Delivery team in the migration of data out of Google Workspace.
- Creating documentation, processes, training materials, and service desk knowledge base articles, for any important migration issues.
It's essential that you have:
- Experience in working as third line support in a busy IT support function.
- Experience in data migrations and migration tools.
- Experience in using Google Apps Manager commands (GAM).
- Experience managing SaaS based messaging platforms such as Google and Office 365.
- Experience with, and confident in dealing with, senior stakeholders and VIPs.
It's desirable that you have:
- Any experience with AD, MS Exchange and Sharepoint is highly beneficial.
- Experience in managing and administering MS Sharepoint and Office 365.
- A good understanding of Change Management Principles in relation to changing of messaging platform.
- Experience in document management systems such as AODocs.
- Experience in managing a large Google Workspace domain including third party tools.
Technical skills: We'll assess you against these technical skills during the selection process:
- Troubleshooting & Investigation.
- GAM Commands.
- Google Drive.
- Google Workspace Administration.
An active SC clearance is required for this role. At a minimum, candidates must be eligible and willing to undergo security clearance. Due to the short-term nature of the contract and the urgency of the requirement, the client may prioritise applicants who already hold active SC clearance and meet all essential criteria.
