- The Client:
An education charity and multi-academy trust client is looking for a Data Protection Compliance Support Officer to join them on a 5 week contract. This position will be based in Croydon/ Hybrid.
Job Summary:
Key duties:
- Track, log and progress routine DPIAs, data sharing agreements, supplier due diligence, FOI matters, SAR administration and data incidents.
- Monitor the Data Protection inbox, update trackers and maintain accurate case records, deadlines, next steps and escalation points.
- Support wider compliance activity, including privacy notices, RoPA-related records, policy updates, training coordination and Data Champion support.
Skills and Experience:
- Candidates must have practical experience in completing and managing DPIAs, including tracking actions, risks and approvals.
- Candidates must have strong knowledge of UK GDPR and the Freedom of Information Act 2000, with experience applying these requirements in practice.
- Strong organisation, attention to detail, written communication and record-keeping skills.
- Ability to handle sensitive information securely, work independently on routine tasks and escalate complex or high-risk matters.
- Ways of working
- The postholder will work under the direction of the Head of Data Protection, using existing templates, trackers and escalation routes. Work will be prioritised according to operational need, with complex, urgent or high-risk matters referred for appropriate oversight.
Expected outcomes
- Improved visibility and timely progression of priority data protection work.
- Accurate trackers and case records to support workload management, reporting and continuity.
- Additional operational resilience for the Central Data Protection Team during periods of increased demand.
