- The Client:
A government client is looking for an Engineer (Engineering and Built Environment) to join them on a 6 month contract. This position will be based in Southampton/ Hybrid.
Job Summary:
Project Title: Zoomstack Delivery
Experience required:
- Building, deploying, testing, debugging, scaling, and monitoring secure systems.
- Clear communication skills, with the ability to collaborate across technical and non-technical stakeholders.
- Developing modules for use on Databricks with Scala and Spark.
- Automated Access and Security Management.
Your responsibilities will include:
- Build and maintain software components using modern engineering and iterative delivery practices.
- Provide expert software development and configuration in your technical area.
- Understand, apply and advocate engineering best practices, industry patterns and solutions.
- Ensure software is secure, reliable and thoroughly tested.
- Work collaboratively within agile, cross functional delivery teams.
- Develop high quality documentation.
How you'll do it:
You will play a crucial role in our team by developing software components and modules involved in product generation, along with the supporting infrastructure they rely on. The role requires a DevSecOps mindset, combining sound software engineering, infrastructure awareness and security by design to deliver reliable, well tested and maintainable solutions
Skills and Technologies required:
- Azure DevOps and Azure Cloud Services (Entra, Batch, ADLS, ADF).
- Azure Infrastructure as code.
- Data Pipeline tooling (Databricks (with Unity Catalog / Spark / ADF etc) experience.
- Experience with Scala, Bicep, Python, PowerShell.
