- The Client:
A government client is looking for an Assistant Project Manager to join them on a 12 month contract. This position will be based in Corsham (4 days/ week)/ Hybrid.
Job Summary:

- Experience of auditing assets and maintenance logs across a busy team
- Must hold a valid UK Driving licence
- Project management experience / supporting the overall team
Role will be conducting general project management work, plus audit work on a current PFI contract to prepare for it's expiry.
Due to the IT systems used, on site working is needed at least 4 days a week. Travel to northern England with overnight stays will also be needed on approximately monthly basis.
As an Assistant Project Manager, your main responsibilities will be:
- Supports the planning, delivery, and control of projects that contribute to Defence capability, infrastructure, equipment procurement, digital transformation, and operational objectives.
- Work alongside Project Managers, Programme Managers, commercial teams, engineers, and military stakeholders.
- Assist in developing project plans, schedules, and delivery milestones.
- Coordinate project activities and ensure progress aligns with agreed objectives.
- Support resource planning and allocation activities.
- Help manage dependencies and monitor project timelines.
- Auditing assets and maintenance logs
- General project management stuff
- Supporting the team
- Helping RAIDO
- Some dependency management
- Some stakeholder engagement – internal to government – not all defence
Essential:
- DV cleared for duration
- Sole UK National
- Must be able to be STRAP inducted and have no foreign connections for them or their families.
- Must have a driving licence
- Project Management
- Audit experience
- Good all round support experience
- Stakeholder Management/engagement at all levels, internal and external.
Desirable:
- Defence experience would be highly beneficial
- Quality Assurance auditing experience
An active DV clearance is required for this role. At a minimum, candidates must be eligible and willing to undergo security clearance. Due to the short-term nature of the contract and the urgency of the requirement, the client may prioritise applicants who already hold active DV clearance and meet all essential criteria.
