- The Client:
A government client is looking for a Category Manager to join them on a 12 month contract. This position will be based in Reading/ Hybrid.
Job Summary:
Top 4 Evaluation Criteria:
- 5 years’+ category management experience
- Experience working in a highly regulated industry
- Supplier relationship management skills and experience
- Running procurements, end to end
Essential:
- SC Clearance
- Sole UK National
- 5 years’+ category management experience
- Ability to Support existing category manager

- Strategic
- Supplier relationship management skills and experience
- Running procurements, end to end
- High attention to detail
- Strong stakeholder engagement skills at all levels and strong communication skills
- Able to support putting together packs/materials for supplier reviews
- MS Office 365
Desirable:
- Public procurement background – NOT essential but desirable to have the awareness
- Defence experience – highly desirable
- Some contract management involvement, good to have
- Jaggaer would be beneficial
- CIPS, MCIPS – Not essential but good to have
An active SC clearance is required for this role. At a minimum, candidates must be eligible and willing to undergo security clearance. Due to the short-term nature of the contract and the urgency of the requirement, the client may prioritise applicants who already hold active SC clearance and meet all essential criteria.
