- The Client:
Our government department client is looking for an Assistant Buyer to join them on a 12 month contract. This position will be hybrid, Aldermaston.
Job Summary:
- Utilising expert knowledge to review requisitions, place purchase orders in line with the correct route to market and expedite orders to meet business needs.
- Building robust relationships with internal and external stakeholders to ensure accurate order placement and on time delivery in line with the business needs.
- Delivering objectives to agreed timescales.
- Ensuring Supply Chain processes, tools and systems are adhered to, leading by example and ensuring the correct route to market place is selected.
- Promoting and ensuring the use of a fully evaluated and approved supply base that aligns with existing and known future demand.
- Working with key stakeholders to ensure the speedy resolution of queries, expediting of deliveries and closing overdue commitments.
- Driving change and championing best practice to promote the Service Centre function and where appropriate, participating in the review of Supply Chain or other processes and procedures to drive continuous improvement.
- Actively seeking learning and development opportunities. Providing training, mentoring and coaching to other team members.
- Consistently demonstrating positive behaviours in line with the company's environmental, sustainability, safety, health, security, quality and ethics standards.
