Role: JavaScript UI developer – React/Typescript/ES6

Project Detail:

 

Ordnance Survey is developing a set of web-facing managed services. These services deliver geospatial capabilities to significant B2B & B2G customers. The project is ongoing and moving into a phase delivering a working minimum viable product (MVP) version of the service based on a previously-constructed “alpha” prototype.

 

The resource will be required to work with the team to develop the front-end aspects of the product. The resource will design, develop, test & deliver web frontends based on UX team deliverables such as wireframes, visual designs & graphical assets.

 

The frontends communicate with a GraphQL API-centric microservice architecture running on a cloud platform.  The resource will integrate with other members of the delivery team including backend developers, test analysts, UX designers, architect & requirements analyst in order to deliver the roadmap outlined by the Product Owner.

 

The resource will be joining a small, agile & innovative team delivering the Ordnance Survey’s next-generation platform using latest technologies.

Description of Deliverables:

 

·         MVP web frontends – within the system architecture and availability of supporting API services

·         Development of the frontend solution design and requirements – via informal feedback to the architects and technical leads 

 

Specification:

Experienced Senior JavaScript web developer – JavaScript expert with advanced React/Redux and Typescript skills.  Experience of delivering dynamic frontend applications backed by GraphQL. Ideally, some usage of geospatial mapping libraries such as OpenLayers / Leaflet

Experienced JavaScript Frontend Developer with:

 



  • Experience of React (mandatory)


  • Experience of Typescript & ES6 (mandatory)


  • Experience of functional programming paradigms (mandatory)


  • Experience of delivering dynamic web frontends from UX assets such as wireframes & visual designs (mandatory)


  • Strong HTML, CSS & SASS skills (mandatory)


  • Experience of Redux (desirable)


  • Experience of GraphQL (desirable)


  • Experience of complex JSON manipulation (desirable)


  • Geospatial experience (desirable)


  • Experience of OpenLayers mapping library (desirable)


Proven of track record of working in an agile project environment using agile development methodologies.
