- The Client:
Our government department client is looking for a Senior HR Manager to join them on a 3 month contract. This position will be hybrid, Walsall.
Job Summary:
- The focus will be job evaluation, analysis and administration to release the other advisors to complete urgent policy work for the end of year.
- Ideally, candidates who have knowledge / trained in NJC Green Book Job Evaluation Scheme who can hit the ground running following some initial training on Walsall conventions / process and will be supported by the other advisors.
- To Support the HR Manager (Policy, Pay and Reward), with development and promotion of a range of strategic HR initiatives in pursuit of values and the workforce / OD Strategies.
- To champion Strategies across the organisation, whilst also helping to shape and design the continuing evolution of these strategies.
- Support the maintenance of an equality proofed pay structure, using NJC job evaluation and HAY grading schemes. Promoting to senior managers the importance of compliance and the risks of non-adherence.
- To administer and monitor the job's evaluation scheme, conducting job evaluations (NJC) in a consistent, fair and transparent way, including the organisation and management of the appeals panel process and providing technical expert advice as required.
- To provide technical expertise and understanding on relevant market pay rates which will include the population of data into the West Midlands Employers pay data comparison system and benchmarking activities.
- To conduct periodic pay structure reviews and equality impact assessments on the pay structure and provide advice on the input to regional and national pay negotiations.
- To contribute to the ongoing pay and employee rewards strategy that promotes the recruitment and retention of high calibre employees.
- Ensure EDI is integral to the work of the function and adheres to all legal and mandatory requirements.
