Role: HR Advisor
Contract Length: 2 months, with the possibility of extension of 1-2months.
Location: Swindon
IR35: In Scope
Salary: £350 – 500 (This is negotiable due to experience)
Security Clearance: BPSS (HMG Baseline Personnel Security Standard)

We are looking for someone to work on developing a concise set of HR policies and guidelines, which are in line with the UKRI and HR corporate visions and values. Duties include:
• Identifying the key policies required to support UKRI’s business, and any supporting guidance/processes.
• Producing a plan which sets out the key steps required, milestones and deadlines to ensure the policies and guidance are delivered and published within the identified timescale.
• Engaging with relevant stakeholders to ensure that policies are fit for purpose and provide appropriate guidance and frameworks for staff and managers.
• Drafting the content of the HR policies and any associated guidance in line with corporate guidelines and taking account of HR good practice.
• Proof reading draft documents ensuring content is clear and accurate.
• Attending TU consultation/negotiation meetings in relation to the draft policies.
• Arranging for the publication of the policies on the UKRI information hub, and preparing relevant communications for staff.
Minimum Requirement:
Demonstrable experience of designing and developing HR policies and processes, ideally coupled with experience of successful delivery.
• Excellent and demonstrable understanding of process mapping, policy governance and the ability to see the wider implications of changes to employees and the business
• Excellent communication, team building/collaboration and stakeholder management skills
• Ability to deal with high levels of complexity and a range of business needs
• Ability to present policies and processes simply, using clear plain language
• Ability to develop and take ownership of a clear plan with key milestones
• Ability to identify and manage risks and issues, using corporate approaches to risk assessment and mitigation.
In addition it’s desirable that you have: • In-depth understanding of HR process mapping • Experience in policy governance • Experience in using Microsoft Visio to develop processes. • Experience in changes with a complex variety of impacts for employees, including policies, working patterns, wellbeing and underlying values.
