Main Duties & Responsibilities Accountable to the relevant Project Manager Developing; maintaining and documenting appropriate plans and controls for the project in line with the change lifecycle Ensuring the appropriate governance disciplines are observed Reviewing project and supplier documentation and plans to highlight any issues that may compromise delivery Facilitating resolution of project issues and mitigation of project risks Maintaining project documentation Making a constructive contribution to project management processes Produce project documentation Manage issues; risks; dependencies; assumption and other controls Arrange; prepare materials; facilitate; chair and document meetings Monitor and report on progress Manage project resources including staff; contractors and spend Assure suppliers plans; project controls and progress reports Manage QA processes Demonstrate learning�s achieved on the project Track record of successful delivery in an equivalent role with equivalent level of responsibility in complex IT application projects Knowledge of industry standard methods and tools Experience of working successfully with IT supplier staff and representatives from business teams to delivery new systems Experience of working successfully in large; complex organisations
Engineering background, preferably in armoured vehicles. Good understanding of programme support is essential. MSP, APMP or PRINCE2 practitioner is the minimum level of training expected.
The individual will work on the Armour MBT 2025 Programme which represents one of the five GMPP Programmes within D Support’s portfolio. The projects within the Armour MBT 2025 Programme address obsolescence, lethality and survivability, with supporting work strands to develop Future Armoured Capability. In addition, business as usual activity includes addressing mobility and CIS systems, all to deliver a whole tank capability in support of the Main Gate Business Case for CR2 LEP. The individual must have an engineering background and preferably a good knowledge of military technology with confidence to communicate effectively with all stakeholders including industry, military personnel in Army HQ and the Field Army as well as those employed at DE&S. Specific outputs include: a. Complete all CR2 dependency agreements. b. Deliver a Manufacturing plan. c. Deliver a Training plan. d. Draft the Fielding plan. e. Draft the Trials plan. f. Develop a pan-DLOD programme schedule to prepare for transition to MS Project Online. g. Develop a Stakeholder Engagement and Communications Strategy & Plan. (incl. identification and analysis).
