The Army Portfolio Office is changing to be a more strategic asset. Benefits will be a key element of this transformation.

There is a 2 year transformation routemap assigned to the benefits function. Mechanisms need to be established to enable each element of the routemap to be completed.

The routemap is categorised under Change, Processes and Policies, Organisations and Skills, Technology and Tools and Information and Data. The applicant will need to deliver against all of these categories on the routemap, The allocation of the tasks on the routemap will be done by the Benefits Team Leader.

Whilst undergoing transformation activities, engagment with Programmes must continue.

Programmes should be engaged to deliver the core data required by the portfolio whilst at the same time providing the appropriate level of detail of information to stakeholders within the programme. Standardisation through templates, tools, salient advice will enable the Portfolio to make decisions using this data whilst at the same time ensuring Programmes are compliant to the latest Policy and Guidance.

A SharePoint area needs to be established for all newly created artefacts/ policy to be stored for users to intuitively access. Part of this will be for the Benefits, assistance in getting the other functions artefacts approved and published will also be required.

In delivering the above, key stakeholder engagement will be required across Army HQ to ensure the mechanism for each element of the routemap is tested and validated, and reflects wider processes from the other functions in a coherent and integrated fashion.
