The Maximum Pay Rate/Not including any fees just payable to candidate: £500 Umbrella Location: Inner London:100 Parliament Street
Contract Length: 3 Months with option extension – ASAP start

Have a sound knowledge of Government Commercial and Procurement policies and procedures, including EU Directives;
Have a demonstrable track record of delivering value for money across a range of procurement projects and categories, ideally managing high turnover, small value, professional services procurements;
Have experience in applying assurance processes and providing assurance to procurements and other commercial matters;
Have practical experience of managing varied procurement operations, working in a corporate procurement environment subject to public procurement law;
Have experience of managing corporate goods and services procurements and leading contract negotiations;
Be a proficient procurement and commercial professional with relevant applied and/or theoretical knowledge, in management processes, development and implementation, category management, strategic sourcing, supplier relationship development and performance management, specification, report and recommendation writing;
Have experience of developing and implementing sustainable procurement policies;
Have well developed interpersonal and communication skills plus a track record of leadership, setting strategic goals, and driving commercial and procurement activities;
Be able to demonstrate experience of operating in a senior environment and delivering results, notably securing vfm, including experience of assurance, procurement planning, management and business processes;
Be able to demonstrate evidence of your commitment to personal development;
Be educated to degree level, or equivalent, and/or hold a professional qualification – i.e. full membership by examination of the Chartered Institute of Purchasing and Supply (MCIPS);
Be aware of Programme and Project Management techniques and experience of delivering results using these methodologies;
Support commercial delivery of key parts of the Department’s work programme and be able to operate with autonomy, working flexibly and innovatively with policy colleagues across all of our work areas;
Have experience of building professional, dynamic relationships across the Department and with stakeholders;
Take personal responsibility; challenging and holding stakeholders to account, creating an environment that acts as a catalyst for continuous improvement; helping us to develop innovative commercial solutions to meet Departmental objectives and increase efficiency.
Set high performance expectations, developing the capability of all those you activity manage, valuing difference to deliver results, inspiring people and creating a shared sense of purpose across the Department;
You will be expected to have, or to gain, a thorough understanding of how the Department and its people work, including how we are contributing to the economic growth agenda through our various sectors and use this knowledge to be actively involved in shaping the way the Department operates;
