- The Client:
A government department client is looking for a Comms and Engagement Manager to join them on a 6 month contract. This position will be based UK wide/ Hybrid.
Job Summary:
As a Comms and Engagement Manager, you will cover a diverse range of activities to support the delivery of the Directorate’s objectives. You will enable the smooth running of the comms and engagement activity by delivering plan content through multiple means including in person events and online content, directing colleagues to enable large scale attendance or engagement at times and gathering feedback. The EU Delivery Programme is high-profile, fast-paced and challenging, spanning multiple directorates and stakeholders across wider government, devolved administrations and trade. This role offers an exciting opportunity to be at the forefront of change, contributing to the delivery of a programme that will have huge impacts both nationally and globally. You’ll be joining a new and evolving team at a point where we will be undergoing an exciting and challenging period as we adjust to the outcome of the negotiations. About The Candidate (specialist skills & requirements):
- Develop and implement comprehensive communication and engagement plans that align with wider organisational strategies.
- Build and maintain relationships with senior leaders (up to SCS level), and external partners to align messaging and secure support.
- Translate complex policy or technical information into clear, engaging content for diverse audiences across multiple channels, including digital and social media.
- Lead end-to-end planning of virtual and in-person events, such as industry meetings or stakeholder briefings.
- Use data and audience insights to monitor the effectiveness of communications and drive continuous improvement.
- Line management may be part of the role.
Experience:
- Copywriting: Proven ability to translate complex or technical information into clear, succinct, and engaging copy for diverse audiences.
- Digital Proficiency: Experience with content management systems (CMS), social media scheduling tools, and digital engagement platforms.
- Influencing: Strong interpersonal skills to provide professional communications advice to colleagues at all levels.
- Organisation: Ability to manage multiple priorities and deliver high-quality results at pace under tight deadlines.
