- The Client:
A government client is looking for a Contracts Assistant to join them on a 12 month contract. This position will be based in Reading/ Hybrid.
Job Summary:
To provide support to the Customer Contracts team in the operation and implementation of Customer Contracts processes. Input into the management of development and production of contracts. Stakeholder Management and Customer relationship management
Key Accountabilities:
- Adhering to Customer Contracts processes and policies within agreed timescales.
- Ensuring the provision of information in support of assessments and analyses of the viability of internal and external opportunities.
- Assisting in the measurement of risks with respect to their impact upon contract baselines.
- Developing and maintaining working relationships with key internal and external stakeholders.
- Maintain and promote high personal standards in environment, safety, health, security and quality and be a great team player.
Key Responsibilities:
- Analysing data in the required business systems in preparation for reports relating to contract performance.
- Analysing of data relating to the performance of contract changes and opportunities.
- Contributing to bids, costing and pricing.
- Regularly reviewing bids with respect to their requirements - including regulatory and legislative matters.
- Able to identify threats to contracts and escalating them accordingly.
- Contributing towards the development and improvement of Customer Contracts processes.
Essential:
- Willing and able to obtain and maintain the security clearance required for the role.
- Strong secondary education with demonstrable further learning or proven professional experience.
- Experience in a commercial and/or financial or compliance role.
- Experience in contractual performance management of commercial contracts.
- Experience of Stakeholder and/or commercial relationship development.
- Experienced use of benchmarking techniques and analysis of financial and business data.
- Experience in bid writing, contracting of services and relationship management.
Desirable:
- Experience working in a regulated environment.
- Working on a nuclear licensed site.
- Membership or working towards membership of an appropriate professional body.
- Experience of negotiating and handling contracts in a secure Government environment.
- Experience in contractual performance management on complex commercial contracts.
- Experience in working with processes with robust controls to enable delivery against audits.
An active SC clearance is required for this role. At a minimum, candidates must be eligible and willing to undergo security clearance. Due to the short-term nature of the contract and the urgency of the requirement, the client may prioritise applicants who already hold active SC clearance and meet all essential criteria.
