Experience Required
Essential:
Technical Degree or equivalent experience relating to analysis
Demonstrable experience of whole life costing including knowledge of Treasury Guidelines and common cost definitions.
Proven analytical capability across multiple areas, including the costs environment.
Experience of using a diverse range of cost tools and analysis methodologies.
Capable of building and maintaining good internal and external relationships.
Confident, professional presentation style, capable of communicating complex issues clearly and concisely.
Evidence of delivering work to stretching timescales.
Ability to assist in the development of colleagues in their area of expertise.
Desirable
Experience of Working in MoD/Industrial Teams.
Knowledge of MoD Research procurement organisations and practices.
Familiar with influencing and engaging with senior management and stakeholders.
Track record of successful delivery of customer requirements.
Key tasks and deliverables
As a Principal Cost Analyst you will be involved in a wide variety of unique and interesting pieces of work supporting MOD Head Office and the Front Line Commands. Elements of the role may range from directly liaising with customers to understand their problems whilst identifying how analysis can help them; leading analysis tasks in the team; overseeing the work of and mentoring less experienced staff and helping maintain and develop the cost model capability in the team.
