Chartered or Incorporated Electrical Engineer status. Corporate member of an appropriate Institution/Institute pertinent to electrical engineering.
First degree (or an equivalent qualification) in electrical engineering or equivalent subject matter
The Electrical Infrastructure (EI) Section provides an engineering framework for the design, construction, and maintenance of electrical infrastructure including aeronatical ground lighting systems (AGL) and its associated control systems. This involves the provision of technical oversight and safety assurance functions to ensure the MOD discharges its responsibilities and duties under the HASW Act 1974 and other relevant legislation applicable to electrical systems. The EI Section provide the DIO Intelligent client interface with Industry for electrical infrastructure systems including HV and LV Distribution systems. The EI Senior Electrical Engineer (SEE) (HV/LV) will support the Principal Electrical Engineer (PEE) with: the implementation of the electrical safe system of work including the development of the safety rules and procedures and undertaking assurance activities; the development and maintenance of technical documentation and the provision of technical support to customers; and the development of technical policy.
•Assessment of AEs
•Assurance (Active/Reactive/Monitoring/ AE Audits/etc.)
•Assisting the Custodian of Chapter 3 (JSP375 Volume 3)
•Accident/incident Investigation including, where necessary, undertaking investigations.
•Issue of Safety Alerts and Information Notes for HV and LV generation, transmission and distribution systems.
•Management of Electrical Incident/DO dBase, NEDeRS, and co-ordination with DIO reporting systems
