Background Information
The Knowledge and Information Systems Intelligent Client Capability (KIS ICC) is responsible for ensuring that Project, Demand and Delivered services are provided to the specified time cost and quality constraints delivering the outcomes required by Dstl. Under current arrangements the KIS ICC’s focus is working with the primary supplier (Sopra Steria Ltd.). However a significant increase in capital investment has resulted in us seeking solutions through alternate route such us government frameworks. This role will provide the leadership of project delivery for these alternative routes; working closely with commercial functions to source suppliers and solutions, managing the delivery of these solutions and working with the primary supplier to integrate these solutions on the Dstl estate.
We are looking for someone who has; A proven track record as a confident project manager delivering complex technical projects to challenging timescales with the following additional skills and experience: Ability to engage widely, internally and externally; liaison within KIS, Sopra Steria, Commercial, other external 3 rd parties and governance boards will be required. Experience of IT Infrastructure provisions. Proven track record in project planning, bench marking and horizon scanning Ability to monitor and manage project risks, actively addressing issues and challenges, but also identify and exploit opportunities when they arise.
Essentials and Desireables
Experience in working within commercial frameworks and supplier management. Preferably to have an appreciation of technology gap solutions, supporting the identification of the right technology to plug the capability gap between the as-is and to be. Appreciation of Business and IS service models to deliver technology strategy and solutions. Appreciation of IS architectures and technology to deliver IS strategy. Appreciation of service design
Knowledge, Skills & Experience Required:
Essential Project Management - Prince 2 Practitioner certification and/or a recognised Agile PM Certification e.g. Scrum Knowledge of IT Services Risk Management Communication Leadership
Personal Qualities: A natural problem solver Comfortable in leading, managing and influencing Can work to specifications even if the links are complex or unclear/undefined. Enjoys contributing to technical strategy
Qualifications Essential APM, Prince 2 and or Agile Method e.g. Scrum Desirable Management of Successful Programmes (MSP)
