The Client:

A government department client is looking for a Senior Procurement Manager to join them on a 6 month contract. This position will be hybrid, UK Wide.

 

Job Summary:

 

Minimum Requirement:



  • Full procurement life cycle experience, open contract tender.

  • Experience of running/leading open procurements in a regulated environment with a strong understanding of the benefits delivered through best practice.

  • Strong working knowledge of public sector procurement principles and legislation including both PCR2015 and full understanding of Procurement Act 23 (PA23).

  • The successful candidate will be expected to run a large procurement under PA23 from OBC to award.

  • Experience of producing or advising on business cases (OBC, FBC) to be able to advise stakeholders in the business accordingly.

  • Strong commercial acumen and ability to show evidence-based decision making.

  • Excellent people engagement skills across all levels of internal and external stakeholders.

  • A collaborative approach to drive decisions and deliver on timely outcomes.

  • Ability to apply judgement to make quick and effective decisions.

  • Customer and delivery focus to meet deadlines in a fast paced and ever-changing environment.

  • Ability to manage multiple demands and conflicting priorities.

  • Strong written and verbal communication skills, particularly in delivering commercial advice to senior leaders.

  • Proficient with Microsoft Office suite of products including Outlook, Word, Teams and Excel.

  • Good understanding and practical knowledge of risk management and appropriate risk mitigation techniques when managing procurements.



Desirable Criteria:



  • Working knowledge of sourcing systems.
