- The Client:
A government department client is looking for a Senior Procurement Manager to join them on a 6 month contract. This position will be hybrid, UK Wide.
Job Summary:
Minimum Requirement:
- Full procurement life cycle experience, open contract tender.
- Experience of running/leading open procurements in a regulated environment with a strong understanding of the benefits delivered through best practice.
- Strong working knowledge of public sector procurement principles and legislation including both PCR2015 and full understanding of Procurement Act 23 (PA23).
- The successful candidate will be expected to run a large procurement under PA23 from OBC to award.
- Experience of producing or advising on business cases (OBC, FBC) to be able to advise stakeholders in the business accordingly.
- Strong commercial acumen and ability to show evidence-based decision making.
- Excellent people engagement skills across all levels of internal and external stakeholders.
- A collaborative approach to drive decisions and deliver on timely outcomes.
- Ability to apply judgement to make quick and effective decisions.
- Customer and delivery focus to meet deadlines in a fast paced and ever-changing environment.
- Ability to manage multiple demands and conflicting priorities.
- Strong written and verbal communication skills, particularly in delivering commercial advice to senior leaders.
- Proficient with Microsoft Office suite of products including Outlook, Word, Teams and Excel.
- Good understanding and practical knowledge of risk management and appropriate risk mitigation techniques when managing procurements.
Desirable Criteria:
- Working knowledge of sourcing systems.
