Clearance Level Required: CTC - Counter Terrorism Check
Experience Required
The successful post-holder will need to be goal orientated and able to work collaboratively with others to reach a successful conclusion. They will need work well in a team, organised, self-motivating and able to influence others. Other criteria necessary to carry out this role are:
Essential: • Member of Chartered Institute for Purchasing & Supply (MCIPS) or working towards
• Experience of Government Procurement Regulations and best practice
• Knowledge of EU Procurement legislation
• Excellent communication skills
• Numerate
• Excellent interpersonal skills and ability to influence others
• Team working skills and ability to work effectively to deadlines
Desirable:
• Previous experience of working within a commercial environment and providing services and systems, particularly financial ones
• Knowledge of government procurement policies
• Ability to develop successful relationships with commercial providers
• Experience or expertise in computer systems
Key tasks and deliverables
• Help to progress current Government commercial reform with both internal and external organisations; • Provide advice and support to internal customers and team members on all aspects of the procurement lifecycle; • Undertake purchasing activity across a number of categories in line with Departmental priorities and responsibilities; • Manage and lead on areas of procurement activity and dissemination within the department and across the government commercial landscape. • Take the lead for all commercial data requests from Crown Commercial Service; HM Treasury; Cabinet Office and Other Government departments • Oversee the scrutiny of the Government Procurement Card ensuring compliance by all cardholders. • Communicate with and provide feedback to stakeholders throughout the lifecycle of a procurement; • Write and provide training on a one-to-one or group basis as required, including drafting or training materials, organising meetings and facilities. • Other tasks as required.
