- The Client:
A government department client is looking for a Digital Business Analyst to join them on a 6 month contract. This position will be based in Milton Keynes or East Kilbride/ Hybrid.
Job Summary:
The role will support the Cyber Transformation Programme, working primarily on discovery and process mapping activities across cyber security operations. Areas of focus include security engineering, vulnerability management, incident management, and threat operations.
The Business Analyst will analyse user and business needs, manage relationships with key stakeholders, and contribute to the design and optimisation of services and processes. This role will involve leading small-to-medium-sized projects and supporting larger, complex initiatives within a hybrid delivery environment.
Essential Skills and Experience:
- Proven experience in requirements elicitation using interviews, workshops, and observation techniques.
- Ability to write clear, testable user stories and acceptance criteria.
- Strong analytical and modelling skills, with experience in process mapping and data flow analysis.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills, capable of bridging business and technical teams.
- Strong facilitation skills and the ability to build trusted relationships with stakeholders at all levels.
- Demonstrated experience working in Agile and Waterfall (or hybrid) environments.
- Proficient in Microsoft Teams and Planner for collaboration and task management.
- Highly organised, outcome-focused, and able to deliver value under constraints.
Desirable Skills and Experience:
- Experience working within cyber security, IT operations, or digital transformation programmes.
- Familiarity with business analysis tools such as Visio, Miro, or Lucidchart.
- Knowledge of industry standards and best practice frameworks (e.g., IIBA, BABOK).
- Experience supporting discovery and process improvement within government or regulated environments.
- Understanding of MVP (Minimum Viable Product) and iterative delivery approaches.
- Experience applying digital understanding to identify and implement process improvements.
An active DV clearance is required for this role. At a minimum, candidates must be eligible and willing to undergo security clearance. Due to the short-term nature of the contract and the urgency of the requirement, the client may prioritise applicants who already hold active DV clearance and meet all essential criteria.
