- The Client:
A government client is looking for a Chartered Surveyor to join them on a 6 month contract. This position will be based in Mansfield/ Hybrid.
Job Summary:
To provide professional property advice and support through the identification and acquisition of land and property interests, undertaking due diligence, carrying out site inspections in accordance with health and safety requirements, and providing advice to support informed decision making and project delivery. The role requires engagement with a range of stakeholders and flexibility to undertake a variety of property and land related activities as required.
Key responsibilities to include:
- Acquire land and property rights and/ or interests to support operational programmes.
- Undertake property and land inspections in accordance with the client’s health and safety procedures, policies and safe systems of work.
- Carry out property due diligence to support acquisitions, projects and operational requirements.
- Review sites and provide timely advice and recommendations to the Principal Property Manager.
- Engage and negotiate with landowners, occupiers, agents, local authorities and other stakeholders.
- Identify, assess and help manage property related risks, issues and opportunities.
- Knowledge, skills and experience
Essential
- Experience in property, land, surveying or a related discipline.
- Experience of undertaking site inspections and property related due diligence.
- Ability to identify and assess property related risks and opportunities.
- Strong communication, negotiation and stakeholder management skills.
- Ability to manage a varied workload and work independently.
- Full UK driving licence and willingness to travel regularly.
Desirable
- Background in rural property, agriculture, land management or another land-based discipline.
- Experience of land acquisition and working with landowners and occupiers.
- Membership of a relevant professional body (e.g. RICS or CAAV).
An active SC clearance is required for this role. At a minimum, candidates must be eligible and willing to undergo security clearance. Due to the short-term nature of the contract and the urgency of the requirement, the client may prioritise applicants who already hold active SC clearance and meet all essential criteria.
