- The Client:
A government client is looking for a Risk Manager to join them on a 12 month contract. This position will be based in Plymouth.
Job Summary:
Responsibilities:
- Be responsible for leading and continuously improving risk and issue management across the Devonport Major Infrastructure Portfolio.
- Establish a consistent, proportionate and evidence-based approach to the identification, assessment, ownership, treatment, monitoring, reporting and escalation of risks and issues across portfolio, programme and project activity
- Provide expert strategic-level advice to the SRO, Portfolio Head, programme and project leaders, governance bodies and risk and issue owners
- Support accountable owners to understand exposure, develop proportionate mitigation or response plans, identify opportunities, and escalate matters where exposure exceeds agreed tolerances or requires intervention at the next level of management
Top 3 Evaluation Criteria:
- Extensive Risk Management Experience – 5+ years
- Experience working major complex projects, circa £200-500million+
- Holds a recognised Risk Management qualification
Essential:
- Sole UK Nationals only
- Extensive Risk Management Experience – 5+ years
- Experience working major complex projects, circa £200-500million+
- Hold a recognised Risk Management qualification at Practitioner level or equivalent.
- Membership of APM
- Infrastructure experience
Desirable:
- Public Sector and Defence experience would be beneficial
- Experience in project controls
- Experience with NEC4 contracts
- Experience with the government yellow book
An active SC clearance is required for this role. At a minimum, candidates must be eligible and willing to undergo security clearance. Due to the short-term nature of the contract and the urgency of the requirement, the client may prioritise applicants who already hold active SC clearance and meet all essential criteria.
