SLC How It Works
The SLC Resource Service is designed to be straightforward, responsive and easy to use.
You will work directly with named consultants who manage the process from requirement through to onboarding and start.
Initial discussion
The process normally starts with a call or email, followed by a short Microsoft Teams discussion with the consultants managing your requirement.
We use this session to fully understand the role, timelines, approvals, interview approach and onboarding requirements so we can agree a clear process and avoid delays later in the recruitment cycle.
Recruitment process
Once agreed, we begin sourcing immediately using our public-sector networks and talent pools.
We manage the process through shortlisting, interviews, feedback, offers and onboarding coordination, keeping hiring managers updated throughout.
CVs are typically provided within 72 hours unless otherwise agreed within the contract or requirement.
The service supports recruitment activity across all SLC locations.
All assignments under the service are managed as Inside IR35 engagements.
Onboarding and compliance
We manage onboarding and BPSS screening using Amiqus, including identity verification, right to work checks, referencing and DBS / Disclosure Scotland processing.
Amiqus provides a secure and auditable onboarding process widely used across recruitment and regulated environments.
Where umbrella services are required, Malikshaw works with a small number of established FCSA-accredited umbrella providers to support consistency, compliance and worker experience.
Timesheets and approvals
We use Timesheet Portal for timesheet approval, expense approval, invoicing and supplier self-billing.
Managers receive simple email approvals and can approve quickly online without unnecessary administration.
Ongoing support
You will always have direct access to Marta and the Malikshaw team for recruitment support, onboarding updates, extensions, reporting queries and general assistance.
