- The Client:
A government department client is looking for a Project Manager to join them on a 12 month contract. This position will be based in Glasgow/ Hybrid.
Job Summary:
An exciting opportunity for a Project Manager to join us to lead and manage the delivery of internal and external facing business change and technology projects. The Project Manager is responsible for the successful delivery of the required outcomes, including ensuring the appropriate governance and assurance, monitoring and reporting on project progress, managing risks and issues and ensuring the business readiness for change.
Skills and Knowledge Essential:
- Excellent written/verbal communication and presentation skills with experience of reporting to a senior audience.
- Effective stakeholder management skills, with the ability to build relationships by communicating, influencing and negotiating at all levels with technical and business teams, project stakeholders and sponsors.
- Focus on continuous improvement and developing working practices, for self and others.
- Self-motivated and highly organised with strong attention to detail.
- Uses initiative to resolve issues and is confident in ability to make decisions.
- Strong MS Office suite knowledge, including Excel, PowerPoint and MS Project.
Desirable:
- Demonstrable coaching and mentoring skills.
Experience, Qualifications, and Memberships
Essential:
- Experience of delivering IT-based systems and project solutions.
- Experience of effectively managing and controlling project budgets.
- Experience of managing internal and external suppliers and in leading multi discipline teams.
Desirable:
- Experience of leading work in an agile delivery environment.
- Relevant academic and professional project management qualification or equivalent experience and capability.
