- The Client:
A government department client is looking for an Employee Relations Advisor to join them on a 6 month contract. This position will be based in Exeter/ Hybrid.
Job Summary:
The People team is an integral part of the organisation, and you will play a key role in influencing business performance, engaging with everyone up to the Executive as well as fostering excellent working relationships with external stakeholders. You will be focused on driving our casework function to include supervision, handling complex cases and develop our casework approach. Alongside this you will be managing a proactive quality service and showcase your expert employment legislation and practice knowledge, as well as your coaching and decision-making skills to continuously improve and develop our ER offering.
Responsibilities:
- Be the Employee Relations expert by nature and lead the ER function – demonstrating - best practice ER and task management to the team, constantly keeping up with employment law/wider CPD and policy change, whilst providing complex case escalation (up to Employment Tribunal) and utilising extensive knowledge from vast cross industry ER experience to continuously drive improvement for the service.
- Foster strong and respected working relationships with various stakeholders – including Contract management for OH/EAP services, managing the relationship with the Trade Union (Prospect), ensuring collaborative working across our organisation by supporting development of Line Managers and being better together across our People team and working practices.
- Inspire and deliver continuous service improvement - Drive excellence by being able to multi-task across several key people projects, utilise and understand the importance of people metrics and reporting, be open to change, bring new ideas and championing innovative ways of working.
- Be a passionate People professional – you live and breathe it and are focused on quality, ethical practice enhancing the overall Employee Experience.
An active SC clearance is required for this role. At a minimum, candidates must be eligible and willing to undergo security clearance. Due to the short-term nature of the contract and the urgency of the requirement, the client may prioritise applicants who already hold active SC clearance and meet all essential criteria.
