- The Client:
A government client is looking for a Senior Digital Project Manager to join them on a 24 month contract. This position will be based in Salisbury/ Hybrid.
Job Summary:
Minimum Requirement:
We are looking for Project Managers with experience in delivering digital projects to PDCF level PM3 (Level 6):
- Delivery – Create and lead the project to deliver the agreed outcomes within time, cost and quality constraints.
- Project Management – Day to day management and leadership of the project. Provide effective leadership and management controls. Set project controls. Set appropriate delivery methodologies. Manage effective transition between project phases.
- Business Case – Coordinate development of the Business Case. Responsible for the production and co-ordination of the project business case(s) and review notes (where required), throughout the lifecycle of a project, therefore good writing skills are essential
- Budget – Track delivery within budget, be responsible for the tracking and reporting of the projects forecasts and variances.
- Resources – Schedule / manage resources to deliver the project. May work independently or with a small team.
- Stakeholder Management – identify and manage stakeholder relationships and need for senior level support. Manage internal and external relationships as appropriate.
- Risks & Issues – Identify and monitor project risks and issues. Develop mitigating actions and escalate as appropriate. Identify and work with related projects to manage interdependencies.
- Governance – Provide key reports and support effective governance and decision making. Provide reporting and engage in mechanisms that hold you, as Project Manager, to account for delivery.
- Assurance – Engage with assurance reviews and support action on recommendations. Organise assurance processes such as gateway reviews, as required.
- Change Management – Ensure effective Change Management processes are in place to agree and document changes to deliverables as agreed with stakeholders.
- Guidance & Support – Provide support, guidance and coaching for the project team. Show commitment to personal development. Promote effective individual and team performance.
- Project Performance & Controls – Cascade vision and translate into delivery objectives for the team. Develop and maintain Project Plan. Identify and set appropriate Project Controls. Manage performance and report progress to sponsors.
- Contract Management - Oversee the placement of contracts with strategic suppliers with strong requirements. Manage supplier relationships, and ensure receipt of contracted deliverables to time, cost and quality.
Essential:
- Project Manager 2, 3 & 4: APM Project Management Qualification (PMQ) Or equivalent demonstrable experience of leading the delivery of Digital Projects/Programmes
- Contract Management Capability Programme (CMCP) – Foundation (CMCP) (or achieved within first three months)
- Delivery of tasks and projects to time cost and quality
- Project management experience in a Digital led environment
- People leadership
- Stakeholder management
- Excellent communication
- Able to demonstrate the professional credibility required to work collaboratively across project and organisational boundaries
Desirable:
- APM Project Professional Qualification (PPQ);
- APM Registered Project Professional;
- ITIL
- Management and implementation of process change.
- Awareness of a range of Project methodologies, e.g. Agile; PRINCE 2
- Commercial awareness
- An understanding of the background, knowledge, and experience of delivering projects within the capability discipline using project management approaches, tools and techniques
An active SC clearance is required for this role. At a minimum, candidates must be eligible and willing to undergo security clearance. Due to the short-term nature of the contract and the urgency of the requirement, the client may prioritise applicants who already hold active SC clearance and meet all essential criteria.
